Workload Pressure is a Patient Safety Risk

New polling from the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) reveals that 73% of GPs believe patient safety is being compromised by their workload. More than half report that they do not have sufficient time to properly assess patients or build the relationships essential for safe, effective care.

When healthcare staff are stretched beyond capacity, fatigue and stress can undermine safety, not only for patients, but also for the professionals providing care. The government’s 10-Year Health Plan aims to expand services, but this ambition will only be achieved if investment, staffing, and resources grow in parallel.

Safe staffing is not a luxury; it is the foundation of safe, sustainable healthcare.
