SHBN Webinar Safer Handling of Hazardous Medicinal Products: Evidence, Practice and Policy Change

We are delighted to share that our Safer Handling of Hazardous Medicinal Products: Evidence, Practice and Policy Change webinar had over 170 attendees across a range of professions.

Attendees heard from two outstanding speakers:

• Dr Karen Campbell, Immediate Past President of the UK Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS), who presented findings from her latest research into how occupational exposure to HMPs occurs in practice and the symptoms reported by healthcare workers.
• Louise Church, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Employment Relations at the Royal College of Nursing, who outlined the RCN’s recent position paper and its recommendations for strengthening protections for staff.

The strength of attendance reflects the growing recognition of HMP safety as a critical priority across the healthcare sector, and the appetite for clearer guidance, stronger regulation, and more consistent implementation.
