SHBN presents at the Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Technical Services Symposium 2023

On 29th September at the Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Technical Services Symposium at the International Convention Centre in Newport, Wales, informative presentations from Louisa Knowles, Advanced Pharmacist for Technical Services at University Hospitals Birmingham, and Ian Lindsley, Chairman SHBN, provided an overview of current EU guidance on the safe management of hazardous medicinal products (HMPs) within the scope of the Carcinogens, Mutagens and Reprotoxic Substances Directive (CMRD) and the importance of closed systems in minimizing unwanted exposure to these harmful substances. They also looked at specific examples of where Closed System Transfer Devices (CSTDs) have been used in aseptic services to reduce the potential of avoidable exposure to harmful substances.
